One teenage youth was discovered deceased just days following being falsely blamed of taking the ashes of a dead infant during a break-in, a coroner's inquiry has learned.

Heartbreaking Finding

The young boy's mother and father found his body in his bedroom at his Flintshire home on 19 November 2021.

False Accusations Start

The investigation learned how his parent received a message on November 8th, 2021 via online platforms, from a individual asking if Kai was her offspring. The communication stated: "Tell him appreciation for breaking into my flat."

In a testimony presented to the court, the mother said the woman had been in the news, claiming her infant's ashes had been taken in a burglary - a allegation which was untrue.

Law Enforcement Inquiry

An official inquiry from authorities later determined the alleged break-in victim had "lied to police" and "evidence shows that the items was not taken in the beginning".

News coverage about the supposed taken remains attracted online comments, and although the teenager was not named in the messages, his parent said individuals "understood it was him".

The "social media content were really upsetting", she stated.

Mental Health Effect

She added that her son had been diagnosed with moderate ADHD, and as part of that condition, other peoples' views genuinely mattered to him.

"This must have hurt him deeply," she said, "particularly when this was untrue".

The teenager was arrested at home, but nothing was found. He was taken to a police station and later freed under investigation.

Authorities said they would be in contact, the hearing heard, but had not contacted the relatives by the moment of his passing.

Isolation and Anxiety

His parent said Kai "became isolated" after the detention and "would keep asking me whether I had received anything from the authorities", because his condition meant sometimes "a minute could seem like much longer".

When she spoke to him about the alleged burglary, she said her son informed her he had gone into the residence because the resident who resided there had said he could use the toilet anytime he wanted, but refuted removing anything.

Online Bullying

In a joint statement between her and her spouse, Mrs Lloyd said her son was being harassed digitally after the accusations.

The proceedings learned that one 19-year-old encouraged the teenager to end his life.

She had no worries on the night before he passed away, explaining how she had heard him "laughing and joking".

She portrayed him as a "compassionate, affectionate" boy, and said her "relatives is completely devastated".

He had been "clearly hiding his concerns", she said, noting that he could not stand to have anyone "have negative thoughts of him".

School Response

The inquest received testimony from school personnel at Connah's Quay secondary school.

On 8 November, she "heard some students discussing that Kai had been arrested and that was the initial I learned".

"He informed me... he'd done nothing wrong," she continued.

After the discussion, the educator said she called the family's family landline and provided a message saying she had spoken to the student about the allegations.

The court learned his family said they never got that message.

Formal Finding

Lead coroner told the hearing he would wait for reports regarding what improvements had been made to dealing with individuals with the condition, before determining whether he should make a avoidance of future fatalities report.

Delivering a descriptive conclusion, he stated: "Approximately November 8th, 2021, unsubstantiated allegations were made against Kai Benjamin Lloyd, a 14-year-old child.

"Likely falsehoods were subsequently exaggerated and exaggerated through the medium of online networks.

"On 11 November, he was questioned by the authorities and after his questioning he was released whilst inquiries proceeded."

The coroner concluded: "Exists no proof that the acts or failures of any organization led to or contributed to his passing and although it was the outcome of a personal act it is not possible to determine his intent."
