Alarming Recording Reveals Instant Law Enforcement Are Stabbed in Unexpected Assault
One police sergeant that leaped to the help of a colleague that was assaulted by a knifeman received the Monarch's Honor for Valor.
Sergeant Tim Ansell grappled with twenty-seven-year-old Jacob Brown after he placed a knife to the neck of his partner Sergeant Marc Foster.
Brown began the violence as the policemen and their colleague, Police Constable Marcus Wolstencroft, were conversing to a motorist after a vehicle incident in the area in summer 2023.
Brown knifed and cut both Sergeant Ansell and Sergeant Foster prior to PC Wolstencroft stunned him with a Taser.
"Officer attacked," PC Wolstencroft was heard to say over his communication device.
Bodyworn and dashboard camera footage shared by the police department showed Brown, who was dressed in black with a hood covering head, approach to Sergeant Foster from the rear with a knife extended.
He ran into the officer who stumbled and dropped to the ground, after which Sgt Ansell jumped in and tried to wrestle him to the ground despite being multiple times hit with the knife.
Police Constable Wolstencroft drew his Taser and sought a open target, bringing the fight to an conclusion.
Sergeant Ansell was heard stating: "I need help on my neck here, I got knifed in the neck."
Sergeant Ansell suffered two open wounds to his neck and further cuts to his arms and torso, while Sergeant Foster experienced slash wounds.
Authorities reported Sgt Foster used his bare hands to stop his fellow officer's blood loss prior to paramedics came.
The new recognition follows subsequent to the law enforcement team won internal Bravery Awards in October 2023 and the police federation award from the regional Police Federation in early 2024.
They further earned a Area Bravery Award in summer 2024.
"The responses of each policeman in the end protected themselves and resulted in no members of the public endured any wounds."
Brown received a sentence to an secure medical confinement in spring 2024, as stated by officials.
